Itinerary Highlights

  • Day 1: Cusco → Wayllabamba (12 km) – Meet your porters, hike through the Sacred Valley, explore Kanabamba and Llactapata ruins, camp at Wayllabamba.
  • Day 2: Wayllabamba → Pacaymayo (11 km) – Climb the famous Dead Woman’s Pass (4,200 m), hike through the Andean forest, camp at Pacaymayo.
  • Day 3: Pacaymayo → Wiñaywayna (16 km) – Visit Runcuracay, Sayacmarca, and Phuyupatamarka ruins, enjoy cloud forest views, camp at Wiñaywayna with lodge facilities.
  • Day 4: Wiñaywayna → Machu Picchu (4 km) – Sunrise at the Sun Gate, guided tour of Machu Picchu, optional climb Huayna Picchu, train back to Cusco.
