Itinerary Highlights
- Day 1: Cusco → Abra Malaga → Santa Maria. Optional mountain biking descent through breathtaking hills and rainforest to Santa Maria (1,430 m). Optional rafting on the Urubamba River. Overnight in a hostel.
- Day 2: Santa Maria → Santa Teresa. Hike through high forest, coffee and coca plantations, and tropical rainforest. Optional canopy adventure. Overnight in Santa Teresa (1,900 m).
- Day 3: Santa Teresa → Machu Picchu Pueblo (Aguas Calientes). Trek through tropical forest, visit ceremonial site Inti Huatana, and reach Machu Picchu Pueblo for overnight in a hotel.
- Day 4: Machu Picchu → Cusco. Guided tour of Machu Picchu (~2.5 hours), with optional Huayna Picchu climb or visits to Temple of the Moon and Inca Bridge. Afternoon train return to Cusco.
